Thomas M. ("Tom") Witcher's law practice is
98% criminal
defense in the State and Federal Courts of Georgia.
For over 30 years, Tom has provided aggressive, experienced legal representation
in Federal and State of Georgia courts for felony and misdemeanor accusations of
fraud, theft, drugs, sexual assault, homicide, computer
related charges, Driving and Boating Under the Influence, and
serious traffic charges. He also handles probation and parole revocation
accusations, forfeitures, as well as juvenile court, school board proceedings
and Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lakeshore
Management matters.
Tom regularly appears in courts throughout Georgia. However, he works predominately
in the following counties: DeKalb (Decatur), Fulton (Atlanta), Gwinnett
(Lawrenceville), Cobb (Marietta), Hall (Gainesville), Forsyth (Cumming),
Cherokee (Canton), Rockdale (Conyers), Banks (Winder) and Clayton (Jonesboro). He has a branch office in
Gainesville, and works in the Federal Gainesville Division, as well as the Hall
County Superior and State Courts.
Tom is active in bar associations, civic organizations, and community
charitable projects. He is a past president of the DeKalb Bar Association
and former Chairman of the Criminal Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.
In addition to practicing law, Tom is an accomplished stand - up comedian,
having performed at clubs including The Punch Line in Atlanta, Eddie's Attic in
Decatur, and as warm up for comedian Jerry Farber. Tom also is an avid astronomer
and a student flight pilot.
